Ms. Armistead has 8 years of experience teaching at the elementary level. She graduated from Virginia Union University with a bachelor’s degree in Exceptional Education. After graduating from VUU, she began her teaching career in Richmond, Virginia, at Hening Elementary School as a fifth-grade teacher. After a year, she moved to 3rd grade. After 5 years, she moved to Highland Springs Elementary School, where she was the grade level chair of the 3rd grade team for two years. She has decided to return to Maryland to be closer to her family and serve the community she grew up in. She is excited to join the Winfield community.

Christy Beatty graduated from UMBC with a major in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. After graduating from UMBC, she began her teaching career in Baltimore County at Winfield Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree for Elementary Education with a focus on equitable math and STEM instruction from McDaniel College. Christy loves teaching 3rd grade!

Ms. Bacon earned a B.A in American Studies and Elementary Education from the University of Baltimore County (UMBC) in Spring 2020. She has been working in education at Winfield Elementary for the last 4 years. She taught 4th grade for 2 years and spent 2 years as the STEM resource teacher teaching STEM to grades Pre-K to 5. She is currently teaching 3rd grade.
She is currently attending McDaniel College working on her Masters in Elementary Education with a focus on Equitable Approaches to Mathematics and STEM Instruction.
