Mrs. Long: [email protected] 

Chetina graduated from Coppin State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She subsequently attended graduate school and earned a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. After earning her undergraduate degree, she began her career in the field of education as a short and long-term Substitute Teacher with the Baltimore City Public Schools in 2011. During this time, she primarily worked within several middle and high schools throughout the City of Baltimore. Later, Mrs. Long attended and graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Public Affairs with a Master of Science degree in Human Services Administration, with a specialization in rehabilitation counseling. In 2018, she was promoted to the position of Elementary Teacher. She taught Mathematics, Science, and Health for grades 6th, 5th, and 3rd while working at Thomas Jefferson Elementary-Middle School in the Southwestern section of Baltimore City. 
In 2021, Mrs. Long graduated from University of Maryland Notre Dame with a Master of Art in Teaching, with a focus on General and Special Education. Mrs. Long is a member of several academic honor societies. She has also participated in the facilitation of a girl’s academic mentoring group which is an after school extra-curricular activity during the past 4 school years. In addition, she has taught Springboard after school and extended school year reading program aimed to bridge the gap in learning and enhance student’s skills. She has also actively participated as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team [ILT] at the school.

Mrs. Long has many years of experience working with children in various capacities, both professionally and personally. In 2014, she and her husband were awarded a Maryland Governor’s citation for their commitment and work with children.  

This is Mrs. Long's third year at Winfield Elementary and Baltimore County Public Schools. She is very excited to join the school community and team as the 2nd grade Mathematics teacher. Ironically, her husband entered Winfield Elementary as a 5th grader in 1978.

Ms. Hrones earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Walden University. Over the past five years, she has taught at Milbrook Elementary School in Baltimore County, where she was grateful to work alongside talented colleagues and supportive administrators. Before joining Milbrook, she spent a decade in Carroll County, initially as a substitute teacher and later as an Instructional Assistant. She finds great joy in witnessing Her students' enthusiasm and curiosity as they learn and grow. She is looking forward to her first year at Winfield and getting to know the students, families and the community that supports Winfield!

Mrs. Childs is excited for her first year of teaching 2nd grade at Winfield! Mrs. Childs received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern University in 2016. She then went on to complete her Post-Bacc. certification in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2021. Mrs. Childs has taught Kindergarten for the past 3 years in Delaware so this will be her 5th year of teaching!
