  • Provides Social Emotional Learning and support to all students (and adults) throughout the building.
  • Works in a close-knit team with the school counselor, school social worker and school psychologist.
  • Helps to develop school-wide/individual positive behavioral interventions and strategies throughout the school building.
  • Assists with coaching students through the utilization of these strategies.
  • Responds to any student crisis that may occur in the building
  • Assists students with problems solving and self-regulation strategies.


Funmilayo

  • Mrs. Funmilayo received her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics education at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State of Nigeria.  She has a total number of 12 years teaching experience working  in public Schools  both in Africa and in the US.  She taught High School Math, Pre-Calculus in NIgeria. Elementary Math, English and Science in Swaziland (Southern Africa)  and Middle School Math in the US.  She earned her Master's degree in School Counseling at Liberty University, Lynchburg.  She is glad to join the Winfield Elementary family where she currently work and promote positive social and emotional development that enhances academic success.

Nathan Carothers earned his Bachelor's in Psychology at Stevenson University in December 2016. He earned his Master's in Counseling at Messiah University with a 3.6 GPA in December 2023. While working to get his master's, he worked as a student support, an instructional assistant, an ABA assistant and a custodian.
